The Museum of History of Polish Jews POLIN and the Jewish Museum in Oświęcim are bringing the Museum on Wheels to the town’s Market Square between August 27-29.
The Museum on Wheels is a mobile educational exhibition presenting the history and culture of Polish Jews, travelling around Poland. This weekend the Museum on Wheels will land in Oświęcim, a former Jewish town with 60% Jewish population in the interwar period.
The mobile exhibition will be accompanied by different educational activities animated by the Museum’s educators and local leaders – including workshops on the history of the local Jewish community in Oświęcim.
The aim of the project is to teach audiences about the age-long coexistence of Polish and Jewish culture, and to support local leaders involved in Polish-Jewish dialogue and the protection of Jewish heritage.
