It is a fragment of a restored plaque-possibly dedicated to contributors-from the Great Synagogue in Oświęcim. On the preserved part, we can read two names, Jehoshua and Moshe, as well as the name Wulkan, which probably belonged to the plaque maker, Salomon Leiser Wulkan, whose workshop also produced the sign for Rudolf Haberfeld’s Banking and Commission House. The plaque was found in 2004 during archeological works, and renovated in 2010.
