The object is an honorary medal belonging to Szymon Kluger in commemoration of his time as a camp prisoner. The medal consists of an upper cloth portion (ribbon) striped vertically in blue and silver. Attached to this cloth is a metal ring and to this metal ring the medal. The front of the medal is shaped as a square cross with a reversed triangle on the inside containing the letter “P”. The back is shaped as a square cross. The front of the medal reads: ““P” [Prisoner] 1939 [to] 1945” and is adorned with the concentration camp motifs of posts and barbed wire, a reverse red triangle with the letter “P” in the middle standing for “Political Prisoner”. The back of the medal reads: “PRL Więźniów Hitlerowskich Obozów Koncentracyjnych” or Prisoner of the Nazi Concentration Camps” and is unadorned save for the lettering which is in capital letters. The medal is contained in a red box lined with red velvet on the base and white cloth on the top.
