Guidebook for prayers and customs of the Jewish Sabbath from Szymon Kluger's house in Oświęcim
The object is a guidebook for the prayers and customs of the Jewish Sabbath. The title, written in large, colorful and decorated letters reads:
תבש
םולש
(or “Shabbat Shalom). Below this is a square that contains a color cartoon of a woman blessing the Sabbath candles in a home.
The reverse side of the cover is covered entirely in a cartoon depiction of Jerusalem with a night sky. Within the night sky and above the depiction of Jerusalem, the title reads “Shabbat Shalom!” and contains a picture of the Sabbath candles cradling on either side both the Kiddush cup and the two loaves of challah. Upon the two loaves of challah are the Hebrew words for “Shabbat Shalom”
The inscription on the bottom of the cover reads “Presented by the G.I.O.H. Jerusalem”.
